Aqualisa

A plumber installed an Aqualisa Aquastream in 2002. This lasted ten years at which point we got Aqualisa to supply and fit an Aquastream Mark 3 in October 2012. This failed in May 2017. When an updated product doesn't last as long as what it replaces, the question of planned obsolescence comes to mind.

Perhaps I should mention we are a two adult household and shower only two or three times a week as we are regulars at leisure centres.

The cost of getting an Aqualisa engineer to replace the internal parts came to £265 incl VAT. He was sent with the wrong parts (for a Mark 2). No priority was given when I sought a second appointment. Thus I waited from 17 May to 2 June for the job to be completed.

The engineer was competent and polite. At least Aquastream got that right.

And people might be interested to know that an Aquastream replacement white hose for our model of shower costs £32.99 incl VAT.

Next time I need a new power shower I will avoid Aqualisa.
