Time between bricklaying and plastering over?

We've just had a new boiler put in and it's been put in a new position - which means that there's now a hole in our kitchen wall which needs some bricklaying and plastering. (The plumber just sealed up the outside so at least there isn't daylight coming through).
I've got the bricks and am hoping to get them in next weekend, but was wondering how long I need to leave it before plastering over them? (Never done this before - as you can tell!)
Thanks.
