Expensive Virgin Package

Hi,
I have a really expensive package with everything in it (200MB broadband, phone, tv with sky sports and cinema).
I am no longer contracted to this bundle so am free to change or cancel it. The trouble is I am mving house in a couple of months so dont want to start a new contract (I can't get virgin in the new house).
I called virgin but they said there's nothing I can do other than remove things like sports and cinema, but that will have a very small impact on the overall price. Or give 30 days notice and cancel everything.
It's a bit odd because their website talks about flexible contracts but virgin say its not true and I will be committed to a 12 months contract even if I take a 30 day rolling option:
"Our flexible 30 day rolling contracts mean you can pick any bundle you like, and enjoy the telly you want and the speed you need, without committing to a 12 or 18 month contract. Simply pay monthly and cancel within 30 days."
Any other suggestions or comments on who is correct about the 30 day flexible contracts.
Thanks.

I am having the very same issue with them. I called to take off my sport package and go down to the next level of tv because nothing is ever on anyway. The phone agent told me I'd then be subscribed for 12 more months. I asked why because I wasn't particularly happy with this, and it's because if you make a change to any of your 3 major services then you are signed up to a new contract.
I think I'll be leaving them soon but I'm looking for a better deal at the moment.0 -
Cancel it and wait for the retentions team to call and give you a offer0

As the OP is moving and has no VM at new home . Possible to manage with mobile data for a couple of months ??0

I can do without phone and tv for a while but need broadband for work and also wife is a gamer.
Anyone got experience of the "flexible 30 day rolling contracts" with virgin. I dont understand the point of them if you are still tied in for 12 monthd. Starting to think the guy on the phone was wrong. Might ring again and see if I get a different answer.0 -
If you are out of the minimum term and do nothing, presumably you will just continue paying whatever you currently pay, but obviously can quit at any time with the appropriate (30 day) notice, as you are going to move in a couple of months and don't want to sign up for a new minimum term as the new address isn't 'cabled' then I would just continue with what you have currently get, even if it is a few ££'s more than what you could negotiate if you were staying put, or the new address had access to VM ...TBH , if they did offer 30 day flexible contracts it could well be a similar price to what you are currently paying.0

you are stuck. Any change will trigger a new 12 month contract.
So don't even think of changing anything on your contract!
You don't what to risk having to pay virgin £250+ for nothing!
A data sim is an excellent idea for your new place (while BB sorted)and maybe the last month before you move?0 -

It's the opposite of what their website says though:

Just spent another hour on the phone with them. The solution is that I have cancelled my £140 per month package and then my wife can apply for a 30 day rolling contract for £42 per month.
Any change I make will trigger a new 12 month contract and they won't move 'existing customers' to the 30 day rolling. They are fine with my wife applying though.
Bit of a farce. I have to return the existing equipment and they will send new boxes out.0 -
Actually, sod Virgin. NowTV do no contract broadband, I'll give them a whirl.0

Now TV use Openreach, and your speeds will drop dramatically - talk of shooting yourself in the foot! I have always been able to switch bundles at no penalty on the minimum period, I ask each time so there are no surprises. As long as the core services are untouched, there's no issue.0
