Opening a 2nd account and using that to receive benefits is not fraud.

Why not just put a line through the transactions if they are only after proof of address not proof of income.

.... or use the statement you currently have as it obviously doesn't include the credit for JSA or you wouldn't be asking the question.

I know - but not wanting people to see that you are getting benefits suggests fraud, (benefits or otherwise) may be behind it.

Could be other reasons of course - not wanting to admit to others they are on benefits, etc.

Having a second account is a sensible plan for anyone. When a bank's IT system fails or if someone steals your payment details you won't be stuck with no access to money.

The ref no is a series of nos so after the above its followed by about 8 numbers.

So to be clear the JSA payments look as follows on a bank statement:

Bank Credit XX123456X DWP JSA 12345678

    Is that so?

You have to give every employer your national insurance number. You don't have to show anyone your bank statement. dbs - just use an electric/ gas/ telephone/ council tax bill. I can't think of any other reason why you would need to hand it over
