From memory it shows as DWP and NI number I think, it's been 3 or 4 years since I last claimed
Why?0 -
I believe it shows 'JSA DWP' (or on most of the ones Ive seen it does)
Same with DLA/PIP and Cares allowance (CA)
Child tax credit shows as CTC
Though I imagine a lot of this may depend on your bank.0 -
Bank Credit XX123456X DWP JSA0

I may be wrong but im assuming you dont want anyone seeing that you are on benefits? dont you have a second account?0

I only have 1 account and may have to show it to prove my name & address. So I don't want my NI number showing on there.
So... am I correct that NI numbers show up on bank statements when receiving JSA?0 -
Having worked at the benefit office I can answer you.
Yes your full NI shows, alongside JSA DWP then our ref no. Funnily enough I was asked this numerous times.
If you really don't want people to see it perhaps open a 2nd account (basic perhaps). That way you can transfer the money over.0 -

The ref no is a series of nos so after the above its followed by about 8 numbers.0

Why not just put a line through the transactions if they are only after proof of address not proof of income.0
