Loved your mini cake juile. I have found these sell really well at the craft fairs how much were you thinking of charging for yours? The 3 i have on my facebook group all sold at the last fair for £6 each.I Love My Computer Because My Friends Live In It0 -
Not sure yet as i have nappies, muslin square, vest, burp cloth, and a baby wash cloth on there. Whats on yours
All mine is nappies, burb cloth around it and small teddy on top. You have more in yours so you need to either charge more or have less stuff. I just found rather than miss a sale if they think the cakes are too much money or forget to order nearer the time, people might have £6 on them and wouldn't mind parting with it.
I have a bow maker my fil made me one a year ago as i also make cards and it's really for that. I don't know how you are all struggling. All you do is wrap the ribbon around the back of the pegs holding one end in each hand cross right over left thread the ribbon through underneath and between the pegs over the top knot and there you have a bow hths.:)Mummy to 2 wonderful boysWant to be fit for 30 not fat at 30but i want never gets!!!0 -

Ladies I'm quickly popping on this forum before I make the tea for the family.... but I need help and advice asap.
I have just been asked to make another 3 tier nappy cake this is the 2nd 3 tier in 2 days. I obviously need to go out and buy stock.
My questions are:-
Ladies who have nappy cake businesses how do you set up?
Is there anywhere online I can read up about setting up a business?
Is it worth it?
I'm just worrying about income, taxman etc and would rather go through the right channels with it.
I have been thinking of buying a domain and setting up an account online using advice received on this forum (sorry cant remember who gave me the info and links) with 1and1.co.uk
To be honest with you all, I didnt think my cakes would take off, when I look at all your lovely cakes and gifts, and maybe it wont, but so far in about 1 month I've had the following orders
1 x single tier
1 x christening cake
2 x 2 tier cakes
2 x 3 tier cakes
I think ive just covered the cost of my initial outlay without the last 3 tier order I received.
Looking forward to replies
Thanks again

Nicky the 1st thing i would do if i was you would be to get public liberty insurance in this day and age where everyone will sue its well worth the money its better to be safe then sorry next i would talk to the tax man if your selling on line and at craft fairs he will catch up with people then go for itI Love My Computer Because My Friends Live In It0

kitiaracat lol 'I'd already sussed it by doing it that way but to try and do it from the instructions provided with it. well !!!! it's so annoying. its a good job we are a clever lot, but that could be because we are women...ooops is that a sexist remark

Found these baskets in Sainsburys today for £2.49 each - thought they'd be good to use for 'baby baskets' as an alternative to the cakes - gonna try and make some up over the next few days. The blue one is kind of an ice blue / mint green in colour. They were in the section for Easter as they are actually for Easter Egg hunting apparently!!!0
