My wife and I have accepted an offer for one weeks Free Accommodation at Sunningdale Tenerife,
I know they will try to sell Hard or am I over thinking and maybe it won’t be that bad ...
I've read stories of them getting people drunk just to sign on the dotted line, stories of a 8hour hard sell.

Have a free holiday and don't be fooled into paying a deposit for one of their 'taster' packages, the Timeshare business is in turmoil and you can't give weeks away. They will still try it on but just be adamant and say thanks but no thanks as you can't afford it, maintenance fees have to be paid every year and for what you pay you would be better off renting and have no millstone around your neck.0

Many years ago I went to a timeshare hard sell and they got angry when I asked questions about who they were. Simple bullying almost intimidation. It depends if you are the kind of person who can deal with that.0 -
We went on a free holiday to Tenerife Beverly Hills complex. We got asked to attend our scheduled talk, we were in a room with about 5 other couples with one guy sat opposite us, he told us the talk would last about 2 hours.
Anyway, 1 and 1/2 hours in he still hasn't even started to make his sales pitch, instead he was showing us news clippings and stuff about how he was decorated while in the police.
So I looked at my watch and told him he had half an hour left so he better get started. Oh and I'm not buying anything, I only came for the free holiday.
All of a sudden he changed from our best buddy to our worst enemy. He gets up, storms off, comes back with another guy who insisted on us telling him who we came with because we aren't on any list and we would be escorted off the property. Needless to say we got up, went back to our room and phoned the travel agent that organised the deal and he went ballistic. He phones me back an hour later and says hes moving us to an AI down the road, the taxi will be with us shortly. The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.0 -
We went on a free holiday to Tenerife Beverly Hills complex. .
To save any confusion, Beverly Hills complex isn't connected with CLUB LA COSTA. Its still nice though.
Over the last decade, we have done 3 of these cheap promotional holidays with CLC. Scotland - Duchally, Costa Del Sol- Mijas, California Suites and Tenerife- The Paradise Club.
The presentations include lunch or breakfast, last a minimum of 3 hours. I wouldnt call it a hard sell, but they are IMO very persuasive and the product is impressive, although ridiculously overpriced.
Lots of people do get carried away and sign up for one of their packages on the day. That is why they offer these cheap deals- IT WORKS
It is not a con, nor is it a scam. ITS JUST EXPENSIVE compared to a package type holiday.
Although, depending on your holiday requirements, A family of 4 or 5 isn' t doing a fortnight at the Marbella Marriot complex, The Melia or the Don Carlos etc July/August for under £5K excluding flights, transfers
The California Suites are on a par with these, so you really need to do some maths if this is your thing.
(You can of course by resale for about 10p in the £, CLC dont like it, but you can anyway)0 -
I'm not sure I can take a 3hour plus sales pitch
even if there's a free breakie and lunch on offer,
I'm not a rude person but I have a feeling I might snap haha

I went to one of these presentations and, when asked about my employment and income details told the guy that. sadly, I had been made redundant last week. Should have seen his face! Suffice to say it was all over in about 15 minutes.Even if you are a minority of one, the truth is the truth.0
