EPC reports - Homescore

I need an EPC to sell my house.

The estate agent is offering me one for £84 incl. VAT.

There's a company online called Homescore - wondered if anyone had used them at all? Trustpilot reviews look fine. Just want to make sure what they do is the same thing the estate agent will charge me more for!

I got mine here - it was fine. Exactly the same as anything I could have got through the EA, but without the 'referral fee'.

Just in case anyone finds this thread searching - I used Homescore and they were fine :)
  • I used EPC Made Simple who were one of the cheapest online and was brilliant customer service, fast efficient and very professional.

Don't use your EA's referral - you'll be paying a premium for doing so.

Search EPCs done recently in your road or on similar properties nearby and see what you think of their reports.

Mine was £40 from a local guy who'd done others in the street - and no VAT to pay.

Firstly check on the EPC website you've not got one already (there valid for 10 years).

Then use the find assessor link to find a couple of locals doing them and get a price.

Try not to use one of the bigger sites they just squeeze the assessors margins to a pittance.
