And of course it could easily be "enhanced" to require passports under the guise of anti terrorist measures.
Back in June 2015 I travelled from Holyhead to Dublin without having to show any ID or a passport; they only wanted to see my ferry booking confirmation. I came back via Belfast and Douglas(Isle of Man); and again, no ID/Passport checks.0
