What do people think of this house?

Hi all,

Just wondered what people think of this house out of general interest. My partner is really keen but I have slight reservations as in the past the bathroom was only accessible from the master bedroom. To resolve this some years ago a wall was built to form a hallway. This means the master bedroom is now the second bedroom as it became smaller and the previous second room is now the master room. This means the two rooms are a little on the small side and the loft is above the bed in the master room. The fireplace and built in wardrobes from the previous master bedroom are now in the hallway.

Looks fine, depends what you want and what your budget is and how the price compares with what else is on the market. I don't know the area.

Don't think about what it used to be like, you would be buying it for the way it is now.

I like it. I accept from your description it's not as it was before but as stated wisely above, if you like it as is now, what's the issue? I like the features and the general look of it. Don't know the area so nothing helpful re price etc. Hope whatever you decide you find what you want soon.

Thanks for the messages. Yes it's not the same as before but I think really that is a good thing - the only bathroom access through the master room would have been a major flaw so I wouldn't have considered it the way it was previously. It's just that at the same time, building this wall to create the hallway has caused the rooms to be smaller and the master bedroom to have the loft above the bed. Those are my issues that are causing me to be unsure.

In terms of price, this house is a few doors down and is currently under offer: http://www.rightmove.co.uk/property-for-sale/property-61447856.html

Is there a better solution you can envisage? The wall can be taken down and a new one built.

I wouldn't buy it, I'd find the fireplace and storage in the hall too weird, and those bedrooms are pretty cramped.

Others may overlook those issues because the place is cute and well presented and has character, but I've always valued layout and space more, as I feel that's what matters most once you're in there and living and long after the novelty of the cuteness has worn off!

Bedrooms would definitely be a bit small for me.

Is 'grinnel' a typo or is that what they call a passage round there? I'd call it a 'ginnel'.

Thank you for the feedback you have basically confirmed my thoughts.

I know this other property is under offer but would you prefer this house if you had the choice:

Have they repaired the roof since the street view was made?
