AquaLisa Digital Shower (Gravity pumped) ?

Had one fitted, but not working quite as expected
Was installed using the default settings i.e non eco mode

When starting the shower (top button) came on at a good flow and can hear pump
But pressing Boost (bottom button) makes no discernible difference to flow rate or pump noise

Plumber has come back and set it to Eco mode and still not really any different

I would have expected in eco mode (without boost selected) that either the pump didn't run and you would get normal unpumped flow ( or maybe pump would run at half speed - to get a medium flow ?)

And when you press Boost pump it should run (at max speed) to give max flow

How does yours work ?

I'm referring specifically to the AquaLisa Digital Shower (Gravity pumped) model QZD.A2.BV.14

I haven't fitted one for a long time, but from memory you should see a noticeable difference - however, since becoming eco friendly I have swapped loyalty to Mira :)

    I will ask a contact...

We had one fitted a few years ago in a previous house and you should certainly notice the difference when you hit boost. I remember it being painful on boost with your skin being pressure washed. I suspect there is a fault if you notice no change on boost, you should also hear the pump go up a level on noise as boost kicks in.

Ours sounds like it goes in to hyperdrive when the boost button is on, and it uses up the hot water pretty fast!

Sounds like it's not functioning correctly. Was it an Aqualisa engineer did the install?

Just spoken to AquaLisa CS and they say that there will be no change in noise from the pump ?
boost mode just "opens up the valves" to allow more flow ?
and to check I should collect water in a bucket for a given time,
test both modes and should see a difference
But whats the point if I can't feel a difference ?

Will do test and see what that indicates

no, wasn't installed by AquaLisa engineer

It might be worth getting hold of an aqualisa engineer (they'll refer you if you ask), and then have a chat with them?

From our original install 15 years ago, to a repair and more recently an upgrade, we've always used their engineers - our 'normal' plumber advised us to so the guarantee covered us. Never had a problem, and they weren't expensive.

I tried the suggested test, filling a 15lt bucket, without shower head fitted
    Non boost = 40 sec
    Boost = 38 sec
given variance of timing and water height in bucket due to water movement I would say thats almost no difference

Give them another call tomorrow .....
