Arranging Own Ski Holiday

Hi For the first time in years we went on a ski package holiday last year because we thought it would be easier than doing it ourselves since we hadn't been skiing for years.

This year we want to do it ourselves with the hope of saving money but I'm having difficulty finding sites with B@B's, hotels, chalets apart from the main uk travel agents.

I'm thinking of going to Cervinia, Italy but I am flexible at the moment. Must be in school hols though

Anyone any thoughts on the best sites or if you have done both ways whether this is the cheaper option. Thanks

We always book our own skiing holiday for February half term. We usually go to Austria as it is really good value for money. We look through the brochures and decide which hotel we fancy and then just book direct with them( just google search the name). If you have children you will find that they give large discounts for them which the travel companies do not, often up to 70% off. We usually self drive which takes about 10 hours, booking our Tunnel fare using Tesco clubcard deals. I believe our holiday works out at about half the brochure price. Hope this helps.

Thanks netbaldi. Do you still get in touch with the hotels when they are showing full with the travel agents.

Yes we do, they often have rooms over the travel agents allocation that they let themselves.
