Huawei dodgy retailer

Hello all
Good to be hear on such an active forum. Hopefully someone can help me with an issue too
So I bought a Huawei phone from gadgetmonocle.co.uk 18 months ago and it suddenly stopped working a month ago (not dropped, damaged etc.).
For the past month I've had an email battle with Huawei, who are refusing to fix the phone even though it's under warranty (2 years). They say the phone's IMEI is such that 1) it's meant for the HK market and 2) the retailer bought it as "buy-out stock" and so therefore the retailer should provide repair. The retailer looks like they've gone bust or run off, as you can see from the website.
Do I have any rights here?

If the phone was over £100 and you paid by credit card you could try Section 75 http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/shopping/section75-protect-your-purchases0

You buy a grey market phone and that's the risk you take. Any warranty would be HK based anyway, so you would have to incur the courier cost to get it there. No free lunch, and no free laptop

What is the actual problem .
As you have no warranty from Huawei in the UK and the vendor is missing .In my opinion i would start with your mobile repair shop see if they can fix it .0
