Each time i do a registry scan on CCleaner I get the following problem.
Problem: Unused File Extension
Data: .OR2 - OrgFile
Registry: HKCR\.OR2
Each time I 'Fix' the problem and it says:
The file extension .OR2 references an invalid program identifier. These are often left behind after uninstalling software.
Solution: Delete the registry value.
So I delete it, and next time I run it again it is there.
How can i fix it so that it doesnt come back again?

prob have to rename it, so then you can delete it.
goto start, and click run.
then type regedit. under edit, click find.
then find the file and rename it, summat like .bak should do it.
(check to make sure there are no other registery entries with the same name, if so rename them all)
(you can even try and deleting them all from within regedit. that may work too).
exit.
then run ccleaner again.Get some gorm.0 -
Hi MilliesMum,
Files with an extension of .OR2 are normally associated with Lotus Organiser V2. Have you ever had Lotus Organiser installed on your PC?
It could also be malware...have you got an AV installed?0 -
OR2 is an old lotus oranizer file extension. You may still have lous organizer installed, is so it may recreate the file extension when you use it.
To be honest it is nothing to worry about as it is not really a registry error.
ColinBug? That's not a bug, that's an undocumented feature. :dance:0 -

Yes I do have lotus installed on this pc. I dont use it myself but hubby uses it occasionally. I dont think its malware as this morning I ran CCleaner, Ad-Aware, A Squared, Spybot and SuperAntiSpyware (not at the same time I might add) and everything was clear. The virus protection i have is AVG free addition which was updated only this morning.OR2 is an old lotus oranizer file extension. If you have lotus installed then it is just recreating the file extensions when it is run. the reason your registry scanner can't find an associated program for the file extension is that lotus is very old and was developed way before the registry so it does not put all the appropriate reg key in.Bug?
