Which Cheapest Broadband that does not require Line Rental?
Comments

The history is that originally it was necessary to have a phone line in order to access the internet at all.Got me thinking why only broadband is more expensive that broadband and line rental?
The current status is that providers want customers to continue using landlines, so why would they provide a financial incentive to do the opposite?0 -

The broadband is still using the same line, therefore 'line rental'.0 -
If you have a phone line in the house, you may make calls on it, and make them £0

How else are the majority of broadband users going to get connected unless they have a landline?Moneyineptitude wrote: »The current status is that providers want customers to continue using landlines0 -
you need a landline into your property to connect to broadband, so without a phone line you cant get broadband unless you use a Mobile Wifi or Dongle0

Not on Virgin Media, which is what I've been discussing since post#2 of this thread. The broadband is still using the same line, therefore 'line rental'.
