Hi all
I've decided to try look into reclaiming PPI as in the past couple of years I've had a few finance agreements; current open ones been a car on finance with hitachi, santander credit cards.
I have a few closed accounts for dentistry finance with Hitachi and also old closed storecard accounts from years ago.
Anyway I've gone on to the tool and it's not letting me select the policy start date from anything after 2010, does this mean I can only try to reclaim on accounts set up before 2010? Which will probably only be the store cards tbh and not worth it. Did companies stop the whole PPI mis-selling thing after 2010 (most likely)?
Thank you

A current car loan is unlikely to have PPI. Most people do not finance cars longer than 3-5 years. PPI stopped being sold before that. So, do you actually have PPI?Anyway I've gone on to the tool and it's not letting me select the policy start date from anything after 2010, does this mean I can only try to reclaim on accounts set up before 2010?
It would be extremely rare to have been mis-sold PPI after 2010.
You are making a complaint about the sale of a product and making allegations of wrongdoing. Are you even sure you have PPI? If not, then how can you make allegations of wrongdoing?I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. You should therefore do some proper research to ascertain if you actually purchased any PPI. If the car loan is still being paid, it should be a simple matter to enquire of the lender about any insurance you may or may not have.
By 2010, many financial institutions had indeed already ceased to offer loan and credit card PPI and those that continued had tightened up their sales procedures and record keeping. That doesn't mean that you were definitely not mis-sold PPI, but it does make it highly unlikely.0
