Getting very nervous about house sale

I've spoken to EA again. They are hopefully sending them around on Thursday. It sounds like they just need to check their ID before they give them the keys. It was a little unclear in my last call.0

Have a lot of sympathy for you but WTAF?!
What ID is this EA after? If they were that bothered they'd stay the duration..
And more to the point, how the actual is an EA qualified to vet someone?0 -

I already have a DMP in place, and the two are separate. The house sale won't touch any of my debts. If I'm lucky I'll break even, and not be left in more debt by the house sale.
I've spoken to the mortgage company, and they have put my mind at rest quite a bit. I just want to have a plan in place for every eventuality.
It's quite frustrating that iwas so close to completion and now I'm back in no man's land.0 -
Our survey advised us to have the gas an electricity checked. I think all surveys say that so maybe that's why your buyers are having the checks.
Our estate agent made very clear to our buyers that there would be no renegotiation on price unless the survey showed up something major. Maybe your estate agent could do the same for you?0 -

Pretty good idea, but laying down the law to buyers is a risk if there are not many of them about?0 -

I'm not sure that it's hugely unreasonable for the EA to ask for confirmation that the person collecting the keys for the property is actually from 'xyz electrical contractors' and is providing a report for Mr Purchaser.
Or should they just hand the keys out to any old soul that asks?
I don't think they are expecting to vet their credentials as an electrical contractor, just that they are handing out keys to the correct person.0 -

Take your point. However just because i sign write a van doesn't make me valid does it...?
My reading of it was the EA wishes to vet their professionalism not their validity. Hence the reference to price...0 -
It would have been better if you had all the valid checks done and certificated before they viewed, having to do further investigation will just put doubts in their mind about buying IMO.0
