O/S Daily Thursday 1 June 2017
This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or SLOW internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred. When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.
Morning everyone
Nelski - thinking of you all today x
Hugs to those that want/need one x
Happy birthday to those with a birthday x
Dry, but very cloudy here but still very warm. I have a wash load to put out on the line, which I'll do shortly and then water the plants.
DH up and gone to work stupid early, DS1 now getting ready for work and DS2 still in his pit, will wake him shortly.
Dinner last night was roast chicken portions and some sausages that needed using up, mash, veg and gravy, apple strudel and custard for dessert for those that wanted some. Tonight I'm not sure but I do have gammon steaks in the fridge, so that's an option, I'll organise it later.
Work yesterday was steady, I was in an office on my own all day, so was just getting everything done. Now on days' off until Monday, but as we were away over the holiday weekend, I have a ironing mountain, and a "to do" list that seems to go on forever! I'll just do what I can. I'll be heading into town this morning to visit the bank and building society, I'll have a look on the market also at the fruit and veg stall, a colleague seems to find it loads cheaper than the SM, even the discount ones, we'll see.
Keep safe and well x

Morning everyone,
It was nice to have some sunshine yesterday. I got taken out by my SIL and niece for lunch and we went to a country pub and sat outside, then we came back to mine where me and SIL sat in the garden with a Pimm’s and my niece went shopping in the town. All in all a very pleasant day.
It looks like it is going to be another sunny day here.
Today I am volunteering and then I need to do a quick bit of shopping on the way home. Other than that I haven’t got much planned. Maybe a bit of housework if it's not too hot.
Welcome Orworse
Gers That is some impressive wood pile.
Judi I hope that prodical has now turned the corner.
Nannywindow The pub is georgous.
Snoozer I hope you soon feel better.
Nelski my thoughts are with you and your family today.
Have as good a day as possible everyone whatever you are doing.0 -

[FONT=Verdana, sans-serif]The gig was brilliant, miss tru was super cool hippy chick til she met the band afterwards and was excited to get her ticket and t-shirt signed

[FONT=Verdana, sans-serif]I collected all the bits that don't have a home and sorted them into four boxes depending on which room they're going in. Decided that was enough for one day so they're still sat on the kitchen table at the moment, I WILL put them away today. Must fill those holes today too, I only got as far as getting the filler out of the shed

Morning all and thank you for starting us off nmlc.
Thinking of Nelski today.
I've been up since 4.30 but went to bed early so am feeling more human today. I'll be working at home, fewer interruptions while I get on with a long report and I tend to concentrate better.
I've got a loaf in the bread machine, have had two cups of tea and some toast, will get started on work as soon as the OH gets up.
Looks like quite a cloudy day but not cold and not raining, that'll do for me. My knee feels a bit better, the muscles are no longer spasming and am keeping on with foot and ankle exercise. Foot still puffy but not like yesterday.
Hope everyone has a good dayI was jumping to conclusions and one of them jumped back0 -
Nelski thinking of you today and I hope the sun shines for your dad. Wet weather makes it so much more miserable.
On days off now, am about to go to the allotment before it's too warm. Will take my yogurt & granola breakfast with me
then back home via the SM. DH is talking about walking along the Prom on our "3 Piers" walk later, but I think he's not realised it is half term and the town is rammed with visitors
Judi wonder if there is a similar site for cat food? Our Whisky is on a mix of James Wellbeloved oral & IAMS hairball, but wouldn't mind a cheaper alternative.
Gers good to see your curtain in situ - I sometimes push ours back on its rod to open the doors. The cat has got the measure of it now and just dives though her cat flap!2021 Decluttering Awards: ⭐⭐🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇 2022 Decluttering Awards: 🥇

Morning all
Nels I hope it goes well today, someone said to me on the morning of my dads funeral that I should weep and wail if I needed to and I should not try to hold it all in as its natural xxx
Off to work for me it seems a long week for a four day one ! Yesterday was a busy one and I think today will be the same.
Not sure about dinner tonight I have some smoked sausage and crème fraiche so might do a pasta thing, will see what we feel like later on.
Nanny the pup is simply adorable, our old dog was a border and they make the best pets, they have such characters, In fact terriers in general are fab, Little Evie has us laughing all the time.
Have good days all xx0 -
Quick hello while I drink my tea and wake up.
Brother and SIL still in bed they set their alarm for 8am  ..wish I could have slept that long I was up at 5.00 worrying...guessing they are like guests and I am the organiser so its bound to worry me more.
We had a pleasant evening with a takeaway and some vino chatting about dad memories which was really nice.
Doing some bacon butties when they surface as its a while before next food then got some chicken in for tonight which we can have with bread or chips or a full roast depending on how I feel
Dreading my poem moment still ...who would believe I do presenting for a job
Want to thank all the amazing OS girls (and specky) again for all your support over the last few weeks. Knowing you are there and thinking about me is really special and has kept me going ....Awesome people each and every one :A:A:A0 -
Morning all.
Another good night's sleep here. Little hound didn't get me up and hubby zonked as soon as his head hit the pillow but how is it the more sleep I have, the more I want? In less than an hour my little whirlwind will be here and there are jobs I need to do before he gets here but I am struggling to get out of bed.
This time next year I will have have a 5 year old and a 12 month old to keep me on my toes.
Half an hour to go...I'd best move NOW.
Not sure if our usual Thursday night guest is coming for tea. It will be pot luck as to if it's edible as I'll be knackered by then.
Nelski, thinking of you today. I hope all goes well.
Onwards and forwards

Morning everyone.
Cloudy with watery skies here, it could go either way.
Got two hours of work today and then I'm going down to Glasgow for a few days. DM is still on her two missions, clearing out her years of acquisitions and writing her war time memoirs. That means umpteen visits to CS and the tip with long periods in between.
I've ordered a new TV for the spare room as the new furniture arrangement means the wee 17" one is too far away to watch comfortably. The new one is still on the small side, 24", but it'll make a difference.
Nelski - I'm sending you lots of hugs and inner strength. At my beloved Dad's funeral I couldn't speak at all. Take your time and get through it all.
For everyone else - happy Thursday.0 -
