LTSB switch to Mastercard without informing me

in Credit cards
Just checking to see if anyone had a similar experience.
I just logged-on to my online banking, and under my Gold Visa C/card was a new Platinum Mastercard with the same credit limit but a completely new number. I had not applied for one, so I called cust service who said that Lloyds were switching from Visa to Mastercard and I should have received my new card by now. The old gold one will be cancelled.
I received no notice in the post or online about the change, has anyone else discovered this, or was I the only one to be kept in the dark?

This has been asked before.
I received at least 2 letters and countless statement inserts before the changeover.0 -
I can't see the problem myself. Are you being disadvantaged in any way by the change over? I mean disadvantaged, and not simply inconvenienced by having to change your card details with any company that takes a recurring payment. If not, then I really can't see what the issue is.0

They will tell you, you'll get a new card, probably a new PIN, and as previous posters mention, not much else will changeSo many glitches, so little time...0 -
The banks normally notify you when the new card arrives
As said it doesnt really cause any major problems to you except some people who are a bit shall I say sensitive and like causing problems were ones dont exist
The banks are all changing to mastercard as they feel its better (financially and service wise)
Your old visa will remain active until at very least the new card arrives and possibly longer
Worst case scenario you need to change a few CPA's, and a lot of banks are offering offers such as o%'s to smooth this0 -
It's not going to cause me any problems of course, but my main concern was the lack of info LTSB sent me concerning this.
I use online banking and have chosen not to receive paper statements (save a tree or two), so I didn't receive any statement flyer inserts. No letters either. Just a new credit card in my name which I hadn't ordered or received!
Maybe I'm a little jumpy as I've been hit by c/c fraud once before.
