Waiting to buy, what am I supposed to be doing?

I'm a first time buyer, viewed property out in official offer via solicitors and was accepted and mortgage approved by Halifax on 17th May. My mortgage was arrange through a mortgage advisor and he also sorted out various insurance policies for me that were needed. After this was all confirmed as received by the bank, solicitors and mortgage advisor, I then got an email last Wednesday from my solicitor to get my dads NI number and a bank statement showing funds in his account transfer to mine and my statement showing the funds in my account as he was helping with my deposit. That was all fine but I'm a bit concerned I've not heard anything at all in a week now. My moving date is supposed to be 16th June and I've no idea where I am in this process. I emailed my solicitor yesterday to ask but haven't heard back and was wondering if anyone can provide any advice on what I should expect?

My understanding is I should get the missive through to sign and this will have the details on the sale and confirmed date? Should I be worried?

Also any advice on what actually happens on the day I get the property? At this point I'm very very unlikely to be able to get the date off work and think this may cause an issue too.

Sorry if I'm being silly but first time buyer and lots of information online is a bit conflicting on the process and steps

You are in Scotland? Sounds like everything is going perfectly well. I would try calling solicitor tomorrow just to check that all is still on track for signing missives and moving on 16th June. We went to the solicitors office to sign missives, we signed just a few days before we got the keys.

What happens the day you get the keys? You arrange to pick them up from the solicitors or some other agreed place? Doubt you need to take a day off work unless you need to move in that day eg removal men etc?

Thanks Ellie I am in Scotland. The only contact I've really had with my solicitor is via email and the emails tend to be from different people which is frustrating. They specifically said at the start of the process to not call them as there wouldn't be any need but I do agree it's much easier to just call and ask.

I don't need to move on the day so that's not a worry really but I do work about an hours drive from my home and will be at the earliest around 6-6.30 I'd get to the property.

    Thanks again
