Finally the third parties insurance have been back in touch with me.
For those who haven't read my previous on this the third party didn't stop. I only was able to get in touch with their insurance through the askMID website so as yet the third party doesn't know anything about me other than my reg really.
Aside from ignoring one of my questions which is a pretty important one, Zurich have asked for my personal details. Name, address, phone number.
I did ask them what if any of this would be passed on to the third party or is it only for Zurich themselves & they wont pass anything on to the other chap.
They haven't replied so i thought i'd ask you guys in case someone here knows. Does it come under Data Protection & they can't pass on my info? Just wanted to check.

They wouldn't pass your info on, they have no need to.0

I was in touch with them via their twitter since they seem to respond much quicker via that and they said a few things:
* in your case i'm not sure
* it's a company vehicle so not sure if the actual driver will be given your personal details (i didn't ask that, i only asked if the policyholder would be given them)
* some details will be shared with the company but not sure if the other driver will see them. (what these 'details' are they never said)
But like you said, they shouldn't have need to pass them on. I just wanted to be sure.0 -
Information will likely be shared between both insurers involved but personal information shouldn't be passed on to the policyholder/driver.
If they ever talk about you it will likely be in terms such as defendant/claimant/third party/policyholder etc. and should never give out your address, telephone number etc.0 -
I called them today to make sure and they confirmed what you said. They only wanted the details to send correspondence my way.
The other guy (predictably) hasn't informed anyone, police, insurance, nobody.
I'm a little disappointed in the police tbh. I reported it the day it happened, i was visited the next day and was told i'd be updated the next week. It's coming up 4 weeks now since that.0
