Roof work

Options
A couple weeks ago after heavy rain I came home to find water stains in the plasterboard above my bedroom window and some water on the cill. My house was built around 1933 so is too old to have a lining under the tiles. I got someone from a reputable local building firm to have a look and he said it seemed to be coming from where the apex above the window meets the roof. Apparently you can see that the channel (can't remember the correct term here) had been repaired before. Suggested I get it replaced which would involve taking off the tiles around it in the process.

This was the end of last week and I've not had a quote yet (they're good but in demand, so can be a bit slow). Has anyone had this done before? What should I expect the cost to be? Will post the quote here when I get it.

Got any pics of the outside?
  • Sorry for the delay in responding, the boss went away for a couple of weeks and the message apparently wasn't passed on. The cost quoted is: £590 + VAT
It's a bit difficult to get up there so no pics I'm afraid.
