Servicing Stop. AGAIN.

Options
Good afternoon,

This is the first time I've posted on these forums but I have read reviews recently on here about the aforementioned Servicing Stop. I unfortunately used their service a number of weeks ago and it turned out to be a complete shambles.

My Peugeot 208 (2014 registration) was recently booked in with them for a Service and MOT due to the assurances on their website and on the phone it would be picked up between 8am-10am and returned by 6pm which was ideal as I didn't need the car on that day for my work as a recruitment consultant. On the morning the car was due to be picked up I was called just after 8 to let me know someone would be here shortly to pick it up, it was then picked up at 11am. Not a good start.

The car was then taken away to the 'local' garage and bear in mind I live in Edinburgh where there is a plethora of garages it was taken to Bathgate. I was then called by the garage later that afternoon to inform me of a number of apparent 'issues' including the requirement of this magical special oil which they continue to refer to with pretty much every car from other reviews I've read. I paid the money on the basis I needed the car back that evening however lone behold they called me at 5.45pm saying I wouldn't have it back until the following morning, I agreed on the basis it would be returned at 11am latest which again I was assured it would be. This again came and went and subsequently I called 4 times to enquire where the car was each time I was told it was on its way. A shambles of an outfit and it eventually was returned at 6pm the following evening.

I had to cancel several appointments as a result of this much to my displeasure and to my cost. I emailed their customer service team over two weeks ago to discuss this shambles and haven't heard back from them since last Monday where they told me they were investigating. I have subsequently posted my annoyance on their TrustPilot review website where my latest review has been deleted as a result of me discovering they are writing reviews on the website themselves to boost their ratings through fake profiles. I have evidence of this but can't post the screengrab due to being a newbie to this forum. Any advice on what to do next would be appreciated, do I have grounds for reporting them to Trading Standards?

Why doesn't anyone ever read the reviews before handing over their keys to a bunch of strangers?

Why do people keep using these clowns?

    Edit:
Fake reviews on Trust Pilot. Nothing new there. We Buy Any Car do the same.

You have to ask yourself why any decent restaurant or takeaway would use an aggregator such as Just Eat or Hungry House? Apply the same logic to why a decent garage would use Servicing Stop?

Most decent garages will have customers queuing out of their doors.

Any problem is down to Servicing stop as it is them that the car owner has a contract with, it is them who take the money and it is them who decide which garage the work will be carried out by.
  • I too had a service arranged by service stop. late picking car up, got report emailed to me stating tyre pressures all round were the same even though one of the back tyres is slightly flat?. open service book to find filled out by what looked like a child had done it and also not stamped
  • I feel like I have to share my experience too.
Book my Fiat Panda 2010 in for a full service + MOT. Car supposed to be picked up between 8 to 9. Got a call after 9 from the garage (Plumstead Garages in SE18) asking me if I still wanted my car to be picked up. But this is nothing compared to what happened next.

Car had 1800 miles since the last MOT, and regularly maintained and used up until the day before the appointment. Everything was in perfect working order.
Got a call from Servicing Stop in the afternoon about 2 MOT failures and relative repair costs: left wiper blade (£30 + VAT), and right wishbone (£200 + VAT). Thought these prices, for a FIAT PANDA were insane, and told them I was unhappy with their costs. They simply said the car couldn't leave the garage as it failed MOT unless repairs were carried over.
Asked them to have the old parts back, and as I expected damage has clearly been done on purpose. Wiper blade was 100% functional until the day before, and wishbone replacement was completely unnecessary.

Filed a formal complaint to customer service sending accurate description of what happened and pictures, and they simply said they don't care, and if I wanted to challenge MOT outcome I should contact DVSA.

In summary, an initial competitive price of £127.06 for service + MOT became over £400.
