    I did it online and got mine instantly. I was suprised at how easy it was but have friends who are struggling to get theirs. I guess you just have to keep trying

    Success! At last the system is working and letting me log in, got the code instantly yesterday
  • i didn't realise we had to apply for a code! do some of the nurserys/preschools apply on your behalf? i didn't have to apply for the 15 hours for my eldest but my youngest will be eligable for 30 hours from January.

    Yes you have to apply, this is the link: https://childcare-support.tax.service.gov.uk/

    The 30 hrs is different from the 15 in that only certain families are eligible, hence having to apply for it.

    Good luck! Although the system seems to be working now so you should be ok.

    I think you may be a little early to apply now for January. My son is eligible from September as he was born in May 2014

    Your nursery will chase you for the code because they can't claim for it without it
