Only you can decide that. The mobility payment will be used to pay for the car if you decide on the mobility car option.

I know that but adding on all the extras you would have to pay if you didn't have the mobility car would that still make your sums cheaper? I chose the car option and had mine since last November. I have to admit i wouldn't be without it now, was the best decision i've made. No worries about anything. The only thing to pay from your pocket is the cost of fuel. In 2.5 years time i'll be choosing my next one there's no doubt about that. Some may not agree with me and some will. Personal preference i guess. If you do decide on the car have fun choosing the right one for you :)

oh i do agree with your choice trust me and id never disagree with your choice, the appeal of a brand new car is very appealing, ive done the sums and im probably paying 1k per year to run my car (excluding fuel) ive included insurance tax, mot etc, so at least 3k every 3 years im spending which would come off the 8k for the mobility car, so yes i do see the appeal of the motability car i dont do hardly any miles, 50 per week if that, but becuase of my recent disability theres a chance i could end up confind to wheel chair, this has made me take stock of life and id like to travel around scotland - wont be able to do much when i get there though lol, ill be sure to let you know what ive decided on,
ive also thought about the zafria and taking the seats out and using that to sleep in on my travels lol.

I don't do many miles either but without it i'd be housebound. There's so many SUV's out there to choose from. This is my first brand new car and i'll admit i'm enjoying every minute of it. I chose the SUV option as needed the higher car as can't get in and out of a lower one. Loved test driven my few options and did have about 4 short listed. Went the the Suzuki Vitara auto in the end and love it. Have fun choosing the right car for you. The motability advisers are great too and will help you choose the right car for you. Have fun on your travels when you go :)

car will be astra sports tourer 1.4 petrol turbo sri or astra sri 1.4 (150 bhp) petrols, or the focus st line 1.5 petrol turbo, do the cars always get built new and if so will take months?

As you already have your PIP award then the only time constraint is finding the model you want.

If you can be flexible about colour, it's worth ringing round all the dealers you can reasonably reach in your area, as one of them may have one of the models you want in stock or already on forward order (especially if you contact one of the big groups such a Bristol Street Motors).

If you are lucky you could be in your new car in about a week if all your paperwork is in order.
I try not to get too stressed out on the forum. I won't argue, i'll just leave a thread if you don't like what I say. :)
