Perhaps it is time for the mods here to amend the title of this thread to reflect that Debenhams is not the scamming company - perhaps Beware Facebook sellers posing as Debenhams?

Obviously not, even though a MOD is posting here!

    More information needed.

Did you buy something from Debenhams?

Did you think you were buying from Debenhams?

Anything else you can tell us that might help us to help you?

Did you get an email straightaway?
I've stupidly just done this and I'm panicking how to stop it?? Shall I contact my bank?? I've had no confirmation, help needed x

I thought it was a special offer to buy expensive products cheap because Debenhams were closing some stores. I ordered some face cream and paid the postage asked of £4.95.

I got a confirmation email which states that I have entered into a subscription to pay goodness knows how much each month. They have my debit card details and state that my account will be debited each month.

I have cancelled this but to do this I have to return the products to Cyprus at my expense by 28th June. If they do not receive them by then my account will be debited by £69.

I didn't see any mention of this on the offer but it may have been in the small print which I should have read.

Hi - just thought i would mention a very similar thing has just happened to me....i posted in this forum under junivive cream scam.....
It makes my blood boil to be honest.....your bank can stop these people from debiting your account.....i had to send mine back but it was in england...
I think the debenhams thing is these companies always use something to entice you.....they will pt their advert next to the logo of reputable magazines etc - with mine they used dragons den saying the dragons had all invested in an amazing cream...they have obviously used debenhams to entice you and make you think its all above board etc....
I am going to ring the citizens advice bureau about my situation to see whether they will report it to trading standards...

How dare they assume they can `steal` from your bank a/c each month...it is outrageously unscrupulous....the banks are aware of these companies so dont lose any sleep worrying they might debit your account if you have cancelled it through your bank.

I think you may find that they have displayed something about debenhams closing some stores and put their ad next to it or you hit a link that takes you to their web site.....with my scam i had looked at a sort of advert for some amazing cream that the dragons had invested in and when i hit a link it took me into the face cream web site - but it had nothing to do with dragons den investments.......all dodgey and should be made illegal....i hate these companies.....believe me my correspondence with them has turned the air blue.....i have defied them to touch my bank account.

The `small print` on these scams is often faded out.....barely visible.

contact your bank - explain what has happened....they should stop any payments being taken by them....get hold of the company and make it abundantly clear you wish to cancel this entire thing...if they want you to post the products back you will unfortunately have to do this at your own cost but get it tracked......(maybe they want it shipped back to cyprus because they think people will not bother sending it back because of postage costs......and they will then think they are entitled to steal your money.

    Firstly speak with your bank........

try not to worry too much - i laid awake the whole night once over my scam as i was so outraged....
