Daughters insurance is up and just queried the policy end time/date.
The policy shows the end date time as 00:00 4th June. So is that Midnight 3rd/4th and not covered on the 4th or not covered after midnight on the 4th?
I called the insurer twice and got 2 different answers.
Whats your take on that?

Ignore me - was talking sh*teAll matter is merely energy condensed to a slow vibration, we are all one consciousness experiencing itself subjectively, there is no such thing as death, life is only a dream, and we are the imagination of ourselves.0

Usual convention is that "00:00 on (date)" means midnight at the beginning of the day in question: "24:00 on (date)" means midnight at the end of that day.0

It would say 23:59 if it expired at the end of the day; I would suggest it offered no indemnity for 04/06 as it says 00:00.
Best to be safe than sorry as well, and renew on the 1st or similar I'd have thought.0 -
The start time on the policy also said 00:00
Start. 04/06/2016 00:00
End. 04/06/2017 00:00
First time i have seen this on a certificate, as mentioned above its usually 23:59 or 00:01 etc.
Seems they don't train their staff to know either because i phoned twice to see if i got the same answer. And the answer to that is no, one said cover was until midnight on the 4th and the other said midnight on the 3rd and went on to say 00:01 it would be uninsured.
I thought the same as above one time would be different but start and end at 00:00, put a little doubt in my mind.

Have they not had other calls about this and thought to clarify it?Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -
I'm sure it'd be 23:59 on 03/06. The would make sense seeing as it's a yearly policy. Better to be safe than sorry!0

Yeah car will be off the road the day before anyway, due to shifts, and picking the new one up a day after the new policy starts.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0

Surprisingly, a few insurers still do this even though it causes so much confusion.
In my experience your policy starts at the beginning of the 4th and ends at the end of the 3rd/beginning of the 4th so no cover on the 4th.
To back it up, I think it's clear the policy starts at beginning of the 4th last year and therefore won't go to the end of the 4th this year as that would make it 1 year + 1 day.
The company really should make sure their staff are able to clarify it though!0 -
Thats it 100%. The staff should have been consistent in their answers and explained it exactly as above.
But nope 2 answers.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0
