Best freebies from 0% card

Ello there, and thanks for reading the thread.

Having recently got married, my wife and I are switching to a joint mortgage (which is pretty small) and extending it a bit to cover some fairly modest home upgrades. Mainly a new boiler as the old one was ratty and occasionally trying to kill us with CO emissions.

The mortgage is currently with Lloyds. Because of various legal bits around getting married and changing the names, the mortgage upgrade is going to take 2-3 months(!) to come through - despite my wife being a long-term customer, and my having a credit rating that glows with holiness from the checking screen.

They've suggested sticking the purchases on a 0% card for the interim, but their card is... nothing special. My own card is with Nationwide, gives cashback and treats, and can cover what we need, but I'm well outside the 0% offer period now.

Questions! I have them.
1) Has anyone ever convinced their bank/building society to reboot their 0% period as a loyalty thing - especially if they're due for a credit limit upgrade?

2) Failing that, in your highly esteemed opinions, which 0% card gives the best bonuses, treats, or other things? I'm unlikely to use it for anything other than this specific purpose.

All the best,

WB

0% cards tend not to get loaded with other benefits. But given you aren't planning to use it long term, that's not an issue.

However, be wary of new credit applications and any additional debt if you're within a few months of a remortgage.
