The rules are the rules. More kids the higher the applicable amount the more income disregarded. Hence the 2 kid rule.These are my own views and you should seek advice from your local Benefits Department or CAB.0 -
The council have now emailed me following my call to admit their mistake in only counting 2 children in the calculation. And have now given me an actual award.
The amount I will be paid will be recalculated each month as my income varies. I'll need to send in my payslip each month.
My income stemming from March and April (paid April and May) is high due to my working in the motor trade and a March being the biggest month of the year by far. I also inherited a lot of sales from someone who left just after I started.
The unusually large gap between my gross and net pay is as a result of company car tax (I pay £480 a month at 40%)0 -

Good news from the OP.
Also, can I just remind people of the rules of this forum (even though this isn't one of my boards
)
It's a place to support each other, NOT a place to discuss whether government policies are correct or not. So it's NOT a place where a poster such as Housing Benefit Officer should be asked to comment on policy. It IS a place where very helpful posters (thank you so much!) can flag up what current policy is, and help people to challenge incorrect decisions and claim the benefits to which they are entitled.Ex board guide. Signature now changed (if you know, you know).0
