Can I pay some of my credit card off before 1st bill generation?

I have had a Barclaycard Platinum 25m interest-free credit card since 16/05/2017.
I made my one and only purchase on it, costing around £5000, on 17/05/2017.
This amount was reflected in the Barclaycard app almost immediately.
I aim to pay it off manually, on the 29th of each month.
I want to pay the first £125 today (29th May).
However, on the, "How much would you like to pay?" section of the Barclaycard app, it says:
If that is the case, can I pay the £125 today and the next £135 on 29th June, without anything being class as a 'late payment'?
I'm basically worried I'm going to get a "missed payment"

Relax, just call them, did you get a 0% purchase card or a balance transfer card?
Set up the minimum payment for now and pay the difference when the amount is due on your statement.
I called barclaycard and asked them once I was making payments to change my statement date and payment.
either call/ secure email them to ease your worry. They reply within a few days?0 -
There is no sense whatsoever in making a payment before the first statement is generated. You can't get a missed or late payment as nothing is due.
When the statement is produced you will see a minimum payment amount and a payment due date. So long as at least the minimum payment is received by the payment due date then you will not get a late or missed payment.
You may wish to set up a direct debit rather than paying manually as you appear unduly concerned at the possibility of late or missed payments.0 -
What you are suggesting should be fine - if you are looking to pay as soon as you get paid, rather than keep it aside until the payment is due.
Where it could go wrong is if a statement is generated very quickly after you make your first payment.
Basically you need to make a payment after the statement date and before the due date. A statement generated on the 30th would have a due date before the 29th.
It's a long time since I opened my Barclaycard account. Did you get any say in when you would like the payment to be due?0 -
I just called them.
Hard to understand his accent.
He said my first statement will be generated on the 6th June (then 6th of each month).
So I'll pay every 7th June.
I believe he said the £125 I paid today will be automatically rejected.0 -

No the payment you made today wont be automatically rejected. There is no reason why it should be and no reason why he should say this (unless of course you have used incorrect details when paying).
If you insist on paying the very next day after the statement is produced fine; do that. Most people would prefer to keep the money in their bank account until the payment due date. Most people who were as concerned as you appear to be about missing a payment would set up a direct debit. But you prefer it this way. So be it.0 -

The bill is generated on the 7th of each month.
I want to pay the day after.
I can't be more proactive than that.0 -

Is this your very first credit card or something?
Nobody is asking you to be proactive, not me, not Barclaycard. Just suggesting that as you appear to be in a state of panic about the possibility of late/missed payments that you should set up a direct debit.
As to your statement that the payment you recently made would be automatically rejected, was just pointing out that this is highly unlikely and was wondering why you were told this..0 -

All I know is that I registered the card on the 16th May, bought something on the 17th May and apparently my first statement will be generated on 6th June.
Presuming he was incorrect and my payment went through, I have no idea when I can next pay by without incurring any fees.0 -

The information you want will be on the statement, payment due date around the turn of the month, which should be easy enough to remember for manual payment.
If you set up a direct debit the date will automatically be correct (set it up with time to spare for the first one).0 -
I kind of told you the answer in post number 4. You get at least 25 days to pay. I say at least because it varies if either the statement date or the due by date falls on a weekend.
What you need to do is wait until you get your statement and then make a payment before the due date. The date you get your statement will vary. If the 6th falls on a Saturday you will get it on the 8th for example.0
