Why has the thread about the FTB being refused a mortgage due to potential subsidence been taken down? Did the newbie complain because the answers received weren't what they wanted to hear?

This thread had far more relevance to readers than the ridiculous and offensive one about not being able to ride out of Manchester in a removal van.That's still there.

I've noticed some heavy-handed moderation lately. I think most of us accept that it will happen from time to time, but re-writing history by removing threads altogether should be a last resort.

'Invalid thread specified' tells us nothing. Perhaps something more informative would assist the learning process?

Just a thought.

Thanks. I didn't notice it had gone. Unfortunately, my short-term memory isn't great, which is why I thought I'd get onto this first thing this morning.

One of the main reasons I post here is simply to exercise whatever brain cells I still have left. It's the best substitute I've found for no longer having a captive audience of 11 year olds to spar with every day.

Generally threads that get out of hand are locked rather than removed, so I am surprised this has happened.

It could just be a random IT fault.

Another thread removed from the other board I frequent. I got accused of trolling, which I most certainly was not. I did offer to change my attitude (Little Rabbit Foo Foo reference) but it wasn't a delete and I don't think even a locked thread.

I usually get accused of trolling if I tell the truth about music grades. (Very expensive bits of paper and nothing else.) Too many vested interests........Oh and universities that pray on the young inexperienced and unintelligent with very clever advertising that includes word like could and may. Another set of vested interests.

The forum isn't moderated.

Spam is removed; offensive and racists posts may well be removed. Threads that get out of hand get locked.

Occasionally threads get marked as spam by users out of hours and if this happens too many times they may disappear until the forum team review them.

If a thread has been removed and you can't see a reason for it, by all means PM a board guide or email the forum team.
