Getting rid of window in existing bathroom if building extension?

justaquestion

Hi folks,

Just thinking about this at the moment, if I wanted to build two extra bedroom both downstairs and upstairs I have two options,

1 use existing downstairs bathroom as hallway entrance to new extension, move existing bathroom to back of new extension, with bedroom at front of new extension.

2 keep existing bathroom (though I would loose the window light) Was thinking along the lines of, though it might appear very unusual of just keeping the window for cosmetic reasons maybe with some sort of clever lighting behind pane to give the illusion of daylight if required

This way I could extend existing living room space into back of new extension, and have an entrance to new bedroom from there and wouldn't be turning any existing room space ie bathroom into a hallway etc a bit of a false economy I feel.

Totally stupid idea do you think?

Thanks.

2 sounds good. You don't *need* a window and it sounds a better compromise than building an extension and losing floorspace to a hallway.

I'd soend out on a really good humidity-sensing extractor fan that isn't too noisy.
