bank statement details missing in display- is it the same for you too ?

Options
Hi, I'm just wondering whether all of your online/current account banks display transaction details in the statement in the same fashion as below:

When receiving-in a payment, if the sender(sending bank) puts a reference, that reference is not displayed on the statement.

For example, if MISS ANN sends me two different payment from her LLOYDS TSB account on the same day (say 02-July) with different reference "MAY LOAN RTN"(£100) & "JNE LOAN RTN" (£250) is it displayed in the same fashion shown below, assuming both payment reaches 05-July

DATE TYPE Description Paid Out Paid in Balance
___________________________________________________________

-- --
----
£50.00
05-July CR MISS ANN £100.00 £150.00
05-July CR MISS ANN £250.00 £400.00
06-July TR xxxxxxxxxx
internet transfer £50.50 £450.50

Based on the above display format, how would one know what is what without making a call to the them ?

  • I often transfer money between online current and savings accounts by BACS, and I rarely see the sender's reference on the statement. The internet banking handbook that one of my banks sent me (I think it was Lloyds TSB) warned me that the reference might be seen by the recipient, but I think the only account that displays them is my ICICI savings account.

If there is no reference at the point of display, how would one get the details of the payments received.
Or is it dependent on the actual transaction type ( like CR, BACS, BP, etc ).

Since there is always a receiving end to any transfer, how would them see it ?
For example a one-off payment to clear the creditcard balance to the card company via bank transfer with card no as reference. I dont quite understand this....
