Oh contraire davesnave! I actually look forward to reading your opinion on posts...incredible knowledge and valuable input...i even tried your early mange tout sowing suggestions with good success so thanks for that. I just felt that recently there has been a slight scathing of posters lack of knowledge on here or that is how it has come across...recently one with a question on oil in a lawn mower if I remeber correctly.
Gosh, that's quite a strong personal attack justagardener.
I thought perhaps I'd offended you, or we'd crossed swords somewhere else, but it seems not; you obviously just don't like my presence here.!
I'm not here to attack you so I apologise for that, I just feel people should be allowed to ask questions without being made to feel like it's a silly one. :beer:0 -
Yes, I was a rather brusque with that poster, but he implied that he couldn't be bothered to check the dipstick. I hadn't taken account of the possibility that he and the lawn mower were miles apart.....:oJustagardener wrote: »I just felt that recently there has been a slight scathing of posters lack of knowledge on here or that is how it has come across...recently one with a question on oil in a lawn mower if I remeber correctly.0 -
I think I'll try cleomes next year in my new garden, so thanks for the thread.
I honestly couldn't see though how anyone would have taken Davesnave's post seriously, other than the solid advice he gave :doh:0 -
I have grown them for the first time this year and have just transplanted about 50 all over the garden and I couldn't care less if they self seed, it's easy enough to pull out what you don't want. They are lovely sculptural plants.Mortgage House £68,000 July 2019, Aug £67k, Sep £66k.0

If you do any pulling-out, watch for the occasionally sharp thorns on the stems.tootallulah wrote: »I have grown them for the first time this year and have just transplanted about 50 all over the garden and I couldn't care less if they self seed, it's easy enough to pull out what you don't want. Oh, and remember that until they flower, they bear some resemblance to cannabis, so if the neighbours inexplicably start winking at you over the fence........0
