Hello, someone crashed into the rear of my friends parked car last night, causing bumper damage. The car starts fine, no rattling, and no illuminated lights on the dashboard. We have seen a bumper of the same colour on eBay for £35. Any idea of repair costs, providing there is no underlying issues. The car is insured third party fire and theft, hence this post. Please peruse attached image. The car will be taken to the mechanic on tuesday.

Thanks in advance.

I would say £350 if it is just the bumper0

Take the bumper off and have a look. It might just be the skin, it might be more.

The tailgate's fine, and the wing doesn't appear bent, so you may be lucky.
If it is just the bumper skin, then it'll be quick and easy to fit a replacement - won't be more than an hour or so.0 -
If its good underneath you may even be able to fget a 2nd hand bumper

Remember to confirm 3 door/5 door as they are often different.
Be aware the one linked isnt perfect.0 -
Thank you all. Hopefully it is just the skin. £350 to replace the bumper on a Peugeot 107? Custardy, my friend lives very close to the seller you linked. I can confirm it is from the 3 door car, we might collect tomorrow.0

£350 I think not. To put a second hand bumper on is very easy and quick about hour to hour and a half labour0

If it was an insurance job at a body shop I'd say at least £350 which is why we all have to pay too much for car insurance. A friendly mechanic will probably do it for £100 - £150.Mr Generous - Landlord for more than 10 years. Generous? - Possibly but sarcastic more likely.0

It's not n insurance job
And any friend mechanic charging £150 to put your second hand bumper on is not your friend but has bent you over and taken advantage0 -
Does the boot still open ok and the rear doors?
If they look ok, lift the carpet in the boot and check for any creases or bends in the floor.
If your friend has a hose, have someone sit inside and hose water all over the rear door tops and the boot to make sure they're still both water tight.
I only mention this as although the bumper is plastic it's had a fair dunt and sometimes the body can be damaged but not so easy to see.
If all is fine, or that doesn't matter just now then i'd pick up that bumper you seen for sale and find someone to fit it if you don't fancy it yourself. If you know anyone who works in the motor trade, see if one of them will fit it on thier day off for £30-£40 topsAll your base are belong to us.0 -

The boot opens and closes as normal. There are no rear doors, it is a 3 door car. I will advise my friend to lift the carpet and check for the creases/bends you mentioned. I will report back, she is taking the car to the mechanic tomorrow.Retrogamer wrote: »Does the boot still open ok and the rear doors?
