how much internet searching have you actually done? Here is the first search term i thought of and it seems to cover a lot... Uk safety standards for childrens clothing

    http://lmgtfy.com/?q=uk+safety+standards+for+childrens+clothing

here are a few from the above which seem relevant:
    1. List of regulations: Fibre Content, Country of Origin, Care Instructions and Flammability
    http://www.ukft.org/business.php?page=business&mcat=2&catid=22

That page includes the following comment re standards: "Standards by themselves are not pieces of legislation and it is only compulsory to follow them if they are referred to in legislation e.g. the Nightwear Safety Regulations make specific reference to BS5722.

However, under the General Safety Products Safety Directive (GPSD), it is compulsory for manufacturers to make, suppliers to supply and retailers to sell a ‘safe product’. This legislation applies to all products, not just clothing and textiles.

There is no definition of what constitutes a safe product, but following any Standard that exists and carrying out a risk assessment of the reasonably foreseeable uses of a product are two pieces of advice that we give. A good example of this is BS 14682 Safety of Children’s Clothing – cords and drawstrings on children’s clothing – Specifications, which Trading Standards Officers are using in order to satisfy themselves that a child’s garment is ‘safe’."

    2. .gov.uk page: https://www.gov.uk/guidance/product-safety-for-manufacturers

    3. local council pages aimed at consumer awareness of what to look for

It don't really answer my questions it doesn't really say what I need written on the labels and how I would no if items are tested. I have the first bit fit for purpose and that. The people I wanna buy says it been tested and labeled had GB on it but that seems like China standards and not UK. I I don't need the Ce markings ad it won't be fancy dress or nightwear or toys. So what do I need

This is how it looks to me as long as it has how to look after the item washing, drying. if it's nightwear just be fire tested and all items must be fit for purpose with what it's made out of on the label I can sell it? Am I over thinking
This and that you don't need to have symbols on to say what has been tested. I'm sorry might be dumb but I never done this before.

well I'm sorry you find my efforts unhelpful. perhaps it would have helped if you said what you'd seen to start with.

How it looks to me is you contact the government and ask them what the rules are, although you might want to get someone to check your wording before sending so your message is more comprehensible.

One: I never said that I asked a question you answered I asked another question isn't that how forum work?
Two: would you talk to someone like that if you wasn't hiding behind a screen
    And
Three: would be a swear word but I can't put that so have a smile :)

With that sort of attitude you won't get very far in business. I had a look at the site posted by 00ec25 and it looks like an excellent link in a very helpful post.

What do you mean by "had GB on"? If it says GB on the label but not actually "Made in China" then that is both misleading and illegal.

Where do you intend to sell your product? If online then will you sell to customers in other countries? If so then labelling requirements may vary according to specific countries.
