Microsoft Surface Keyboard comes without a bluetooth key: what the heck??

Just purchased the Microsoft Surface keyboard (https://www.microsoft.com/en-gb/store/d/surface-keyboard/8r3rqvvflp4k) for my desktop computer. Amazingly it comes WITHOUT a bluetooth key/adapter which means that out of the box you CAN'T use it on a desktop computer. Is this not absolutely brillant? I happen to own a USB bluetooth adapter from few years ago and, it doesn't work with the keyboard.... I want to die. Why is Microsoft so stupid with everything?

Neither does the surface mouse. Why would you assume it does?
Given the Surface range of tablets/laptops are bluetooth enabled, then I assume they dont supply a superfluous dongle.
Your old bluetooth dongle wont work as it needs to support the newer bluetooth protocols(V4). You can get one for under £10 on the high street

It is Bluetooth 4.0 (written on it). Doesn't detect the keyboard. FYI pretty much all wireless keyboards on the market come with a dongue. That's probably the reason why I expected to find one in the box!

Really? Well lets look at the market M$ are trying to get into

    Apple magic keyboard requires.......
    System Requirements
Bluetooth-enabled Mac computer with OS X v10.11 or later
iOS devices running iOS 9.1 or later

As for your dongle, well what can I say.
    Usual uninstall etc.
I dont have the M$ keyboard but do have the mouse. Works with my phones/Pc's/tablets & Surfacebook (yes I know its a crazy price but hey)
