Just for info, Facebook accounts are never "hacked"

This would be almost impossible for anyone bar the NSA etc to do.

Well that depends on your definition of the word.

The password was changed plus the email & phone number so the owner no longer had access. 'Hacked' doesn't mean 'cracked'.
What has happened here is your friends password has been socially engineered out of him/her.
Example, you receive a message on facebook saying "hey is this a picture of you ? <link>"

Well I don't know. All I know is that people here seem to get their computer problems solved by near-strangers. So they hand over their phone or laptop with password, etc. So I suspect quite a lot of people knew the password (which in any case was the same as the email address username!)
The link then takes you to a FAKE facebook login page, and the user just thinks "oh, i have to enter my password again" and types it in.

I don't think this happened. The user sells jewellery and the hacker tried to do so as well. My guess is a jealous competitor or similar.

At the moment the account is blocked and a lot of people think this is a personal insult to them rather than something done by Facebook, as it still shows up in search results. Not sure if we will ever get back into it, but they've set up a new account.

It's also a wake-up call to others to keep your security/account recovery details up-to-date across all platforms. I've heard of so many people who get locked out of Facebook or email because they've not kept their recovery details up to date. Too late for the original poster but others should check their details 😀
