Advised to change home address before applying for mortgage - effect on rating?

Hi!
I’ve always kept my bank accounts at one address in another city for over 20 years (my parents) where I’m also on the Electoral Roll, to keep my credit rating high. I can of course always live in that property as I have a room in it.
The reason for this is as a student and then as a professional I've had to change my actual living address every year or so. Less hassle.
I’m looking to get a residential mortgage in a different city where I live and work, but my broker has told me to change my bank accounts to my actual residential address here.
At the moment my credit score is excellent (5/5 on Noddle) so I’m worried this may be impacted if I have to change all my credit cards and bank accounts over to my current address. (I am on the Roll here too).
Is this good advice? How do people who have two properties handle this?
Thanks for any help,

Applications usually need to be made from your permanent residential address. Otherwise credit searches are necessary at every address you've lived at to check for any adverse information.
Your credit score may be 5/5 at your parents address, but you don't actually live there do you ?0
