Yes if it is AFS who SOLD you the HP &/or PPI (not just provided it). If the finance was arranged by the firm that sold you whatever goods you were buying thru the HP agreement you complain to them eg the car dealer, furniture store etc. - as it would be that firm who sold you the PPI and thus are responsible for the sale. What was the date of the sale and what are your miss-sale complaint reasons?
NB are you sure AFS in West Sussex are the company you want to complain to as they appear to be aluminium stockholders in Haywards Heath. If you mean Asset Finance Solutions they are based in Blackburn - here is a link to their complaints procedure http://www.assetfinancesolutions.com/contact/complaints-procedure/0 -
As long as it was sold to you after Jan 2005 then you complain to AFS. if it was sold before that, then it is pre-regulation.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). It was the car dealer that sold me the Hire Purchase Agreement in 1999 I did not agree to the PPI as I already had cover just found the paperwork of the Agreement and car dealer set me up with PPI so do I now send the letter direct to the Car Dealer as there is not a template available I will have to draft my own letter so would like some help please.0

1999 is 6 years before regulation and its very unlikely the car dealer was regulated prior to then so you are probably on a hiding to nothing as they can just dismiss your complaint without even looking at it. Car dealers were not regulated until January 2005. The exception being with some in-house finance companies (i.e. own brand).I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA).
