Have you contacted HIS insurer to get it repaired directly0

Yes, wife reversed out of space, went stationary ready to go in to first to then drive off, but at that point the car was hitI'm puzzled by these sequence of events ... had your wife started moving at all? (i.e. started reversing, stopped, then went to start reversing again). If yes, why did she stop?
Or was her car still in its parking space and the other party reversed into her car?0 -
Yes, as stated in posts above, wife spoke to his insurer an hour after incident, they rang him whilst she was on phone and he denied liability. Wife then said about video evidence and was given an email address to send it to and that the agent would contact the chap on Tuesday and call us back.Have you contacted HIS insurer to get it repaired directly
We heard nothing so wife rang wednesday and their insurer said liability is disputed, do not contact us regarding this.
So now we're at the stage where we either claim through our insurance to get it repaired and hope they then pursue the other bloke when presented with our evidence, or we get it repaired ourselves and then pursue the third party via small claims.0 -
He might not have changed his story at all, most likely his insurer has seen an opportunity to not pay out full liability.
Two numpties reversing out of spaces in a supermarket, would normally go 50/50.
Often they don't care if their client admits fault, it's all about money.“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”

I'd get it repaired and pursue him. His insurers will ultimately take over but can't see them defending it with evidence.
Before repairing though send him warning you intend to have it repaired and pursue a claim in the courts and give him the opportunity to sort it. If nothing get a few quotes as proof you are mitigating your losses0 -
Wife was reversing out of space in local morrions, then stationary, about to engage reverse and then sensors went off and a car behind reversed in to ours.Yes, wife reversed out of space, went stationary ready to go in to first to then drive off, but at that point the car was hit
Now I'm confused.0 -
You're not the only one:Now I'm confused.
'He is unaware that we have video evidence' followed by 'Well I had permission from him to video him'
Also:
"So your foot slipped off the clutch causing you to hit us" and he said "yes" and nodded his head.
Which could be seen as bullying an old man who was shook up and putting words in his mouth.
Don't take this to court.0
