Buying house 2014 Boiler install - No as Safe Install Cert and none on file

Further to an earlier post I put on regarding a house im buying. The house has been fully refurbished and had a boiler installed in 2014. The vendor has not been forthcoming with the GAS SAFE installation certificate despite requests from my solicitor, however they have produced a Gas inspection/landlord cert dated about 2 days after my offer was accepted. Therefore I took it upon myself to call GAS SAFE to request the Installation certificate, however there isnt one on file or available. Therefore the 2014 boiler has been installed by someone dodgy, or not registered the boiler with GAS SAFE.
I know some people will say that they are just pieces of paper and that a safety check now will be fine. but if thats the case what stops anyone installing boilers (videos available on youtube) and having a gas safe registered plumber just carrying out a check when needed.
Basically the 2014 boiler on the face of it has been installed by someone non GAS SAFE registered, where do I go from here?

I've just started looking at selling my house and although we had a new CH system installed a couple of years ago, it looks like we never received a gas safe certificate (even though we had various other documents and warranties).
In our case though, we have all the details of the gas safe engineer who installed it (he was naturally gas safe at the time of install, too) - and we're also speaking to him and he's retrospectively registering it so that we'll get the certificate in due course.
The reason I'm saying this is that if this 2014 install was done legitimately in your case, you'd expect that this is what would have happened in your case? I.e. the vendor would be able to provide the details (name or gas safe registration number) of who installed it, and confirm that it's being retrospectively registered?
Apparently if it's installed after 2009 it can be registered this way.
The fact this hasn't happened wouldn't fill me with confidence personally. I'd try asking for the gas safe installer's details? If he can't provide these, I'd probably walk away - even if he does now have a testing certificate saying it's 'safe'.0 -

Yeah my solicitor asked for the boiler warranty details too and again not forthcoming. The windows they have had put in are also not by FENSA registered installer too, so im questioning alot of the quality of the work. Im going to email my solicitor and say ive done my own checking and unless this is rectified I will probably pull out or ask for a significant discount and have these issues sorted myself.0 -
We had a new combi boiler system and radiators fitted 3 years ago and have never had a certificate.
However, the WB boiler has an installation/service history section in its manual (necessary for the warranty) and I had to call WB to register the fitting, giving details, including contact, for the installer.0 -

In my house one of the windows was not installed by a FENSA registered installer. I sincerely doubt anyone could distinguish it from those which were.If you are querying your Council Tax band would you please state whether you are in England, Scotland or Wales0 -
No installation paperwork also means no warranty on the boiler-which can otherwise be up to 10 years.
There is however no requirement to supply such certification unless the house is being bought to let.No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -
