Garden tap leaking

Wondering if someone can help. Our garden tap has had a slow drip coming out from a little nut underneath the tap. Now it has turned into a fine spray which is soaking the wall behind etc.
I've been looking around online and only some outside taps have this wee nut underneath. It also has a tiny black rubber washer I think.
What is it?
Easy to fix myself?
Thanks in advance

Could it be a drain point - so you can empty any water from the tap body to prevent it freezing?
Most outdoor taps have an internal isolator, suggest isolating the supply then you can remove the drain screw and see about getting another washer.0 -
Does the tap look like this? It might be the double check valve that's leaking. As Jonesya says its probably something that could be as simple as fixing a washer - though you might opt to just replace the tap - its a simply job of unscrewing from the wall plate its attached to (after turning off the water!).0

The o ring splits, undo the small nut & wrap some ptfe tape around it to make a washer & put it back or go & buy a new outside tap with built in double check valveI'm only here while I wait for Corrie to start.
You get no BS from me & if I think you are wrong I WILL tell you.0 -
Twas exactly this.
Got an o-ring from the hardware shop and replaced. Sorted.
Many Thanks!!
