Ideas for leftover wool / thread

I'm looking for inspiration / suggestions for uses for leftover wool threads from tapestry kits. The kits are usually pretty generous with the wool, but that leaves an assortment of colours of pre-cut threads (approx. 80cms each) and I'm struggling to think of good uses.


Tried crochet but not something I found I enjoy (yep, I know that sounds odd). Also made pom poms for my cats, which they destroyed in minutes, although I think they had fun in the process.


Can someone more creative offer any inspiration? Or perhaps a charity or similar which could make good use?
