Car insurance cancellation fees

Shelia's Wheels are my car insurance provider.

I have purchased a new car - I needed to amend my insurance - Shelia's wheels advised new premium would be 3 times what I am currently paying.

Rather shocked Ii went on various comparison sites and found SHELIA's WHEELS was my cheapest option - almost the same price as my existing policy.

I phoned back and was told i would have to pay cancellation fee and the total cost of my ' extras' ( key cover etc etc ) OVER £150 and then go online and buy the policy with them !!!!!!!!!

I have made a formal complaint but am getting no where .

Please advise what I should do next ?

Now you have had a reply to your complaint you have the option to escalate to the FOS for their adjudication at no cost to you.

Otherwise you either cancel and swallow cancellation charges and take out a new policy or pay the requested premium for changing the car.

If you cancel no ncd is awarded for the part year which may be significant depending on how much NCD you had at the start of your year
