Garden tap

I need a garden tap with a double check valve. 15mm or half inch.
Does it matter if the tap is WRAS approved, or are there any other accreditations I should look for?

Don't be so patronising!
I'm not worried, just seeking information.0 -
A garden tap is a garden tap not rocket science.0

You'll no doubt want the back plate/union too.0 -
focus on location to give an easy access service valve on the inside.0

Thanks to those who have made constructive comments.
The plumber told me it has to have a double-check valve. However, I've seen some questions online about whether specific taps are WRAS approved or not, and would like to know more about what this is and whether it is necessary.0 -
Most outside valves have a double check valve built in, it's to stop back feed from anything attached to your tap re-entering the mains water in the home.... Like that lovely stagnant water that's been sat in that hose pipe for weeks.
Only problem with taps that contain the check valve is they're susceptible to damage if they freeze, which is why it's sometimes preferable to fit a check valve internally.
I will backup the first comment though, you're thinking too much into this. It's a tap.0 -
And if you're really interested... A summary of the WRAS regs can be found here https://www.southernwater.co.uk/Media/Default/PDFs/WaterSupplyRegs.pdf
With a small detail on outside taps on page 5
It also shows the reference for the regs if you want to read it in full detail. The regs are available freely online.0
