You're 27 with everything to look forward to....
Ok, it will take a little while to get back up from this, you CAN and you WILL get back up from this, then you move on with lessons learned and a wiser man.
I am, ahem, quite a bit older... and facing bankruptcy.
I have lost a house, my family, my marriage, lived and slept rough... been through some really bad and dark times... BUT there's the key; I got through that.
I found work, I found a home and now I am getting ready to face another challenge and I will beat this one as well...
This may help you, it's been a mantra to me and my best friend for years now;
I must not fear
Fear is the mind-killer
Fear is the little-death,
That brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear.
I will permit it to pass over me and through me,
And when it has gone past,
I will turn the inner-eye to see its path.
Where the fear has gone,
There will be nothing.
Only I will remain...

It is important that we know where we come from, because if you do not know where you come from, then you do not know where you are, and if you don't know where you are, then you don't know where you are going. If you don't know where you're going, you're probably going wrong.

Many thanks, it's hard to stomach the courage telling those you love about things like this because of the shame. The real sad part is of I had been honest earlier the problem would not have been as bad. Anyway many thanks for your help, I am going to come clean at the weekend and it's going to be a tough time but hopefully I'll be able to come back next week with some positive news that I have steps in place to sort out my problems.0

As I said telling them is the hardest. My other half and mum where mad. Very mad. A few hours later they wanted to sit down and talk and work out a plan on how to get the mess sorted.
Remember there's always a solution. No amount of debt is worth doing something stupid x0 -
The first conversation will be difficult but you'll find that after their initial reactions, they will want to help you and give you the support you need to get out of this situation. It's not ideal to have to repay that much debt, but it is completely possible.
Have you spoken to Step Change yet? They should be able to go through all your options with you. Then you can show those options to your parents and girlfriend too.0
