Non-resident Premium Bonds

Hi,

I suspect this'll not get an answer, but here goes anyway...

Does anyone know if British citizens resident in Hong Kong can buy premium bonds (I know NS&I will sell them to me, but it says I should check on local laws - I wouldn't know where to start here in HK).

Cheers!

  • I do not know the answer to your question, but i wonder....

do you have an address in the UK to put on the application form, if they denies you to buy from outside the country?
    Another night of thankfulness.

Look at the NS&I web site!

From the colour brochure linked from https://www.nsandi.com/premium-bonds
Buying Bonds if you live outside the UK
You can buy Premium Bonds from abroad,
but only in some countries. First you should
check whether local regulations allow you
to buy and hold Premium Bonds, as some
    countries don’t allow this.
The first time you apply will have to be
by post, as you’ll need to send us some
documents to prove your identity and
address. We’ll also need your Tax
Identification Number and date and place
of birth if you live in the European Union.
For full details before you apply:
    • visit nsandi.com
    • or call us on +44 1253 832007
Calls will be charged at the rate of your
    international phone provider.

So that is a yes depending on your country. Some countries may tax any winnings?

Why don't you simply check with the HK tax authorities?
