Show Pump has started pulsing - Any ideas?

We had our bathroom refitted 3 years ago. We had a Stuart Turner showermate eco 1.5 bar twin fitted. It has been great, no problems but this morning we turn it on and it seems to pulsate (on off on off in quick bursts) This happens with both the showerhead thats fixed to the wall and with the smaller head on a hose. I tried handing the hose low down to see if gravity would help but still the same.
However I then tried turning the water completely cold and it starts working properly again (as soon as I turn round to hot it starts pulsating)
I wondered if anyone had any ideas or has had a similar problem.....

This happens when there is not enough water pressure going through, usually due to limescale in the little filters.
Instructions for your pump
5. When the installation is fitted with inline strainers (not supplied with kit), these may
require periodical cleaning. The frequency of this operation is dependent upon
installation conditions.
The strainer is located in the inlet pipework to the pump (see pump connection
section). The gauze filter is removed as follows:-
a) Isolate pump electrically.
b) Release all system pressure.
c) Isolate water supply.
d) Remove screwed hexagonal plug from strainer body (see pump connection
section).
e) Remove and clean stainless steel gauze filter.
f) Re-assemble gauze and secure plug tightly.
g) After maintenance is completed, refer to commissioning section for instructions
on re-starting pump

Or there could be a kink in the flexi hose if it's been knocked.Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0
