When that happens I would expect many people to be saying "why didn't they automatically renew it to save this hassle?"
IMO there is no right way. People just need to take responsibility themselves.0 -

I don't think that's the case tbh....
An invoice is just a request for payment to be made. You could, for example, buy a washing machine on a "buy now pay later" plan; you are in contract because you have the goods, but you also have to pay up when the invoice is presented to you a few months later!
The invoice Ts and Cs need to match up with the contract Ts and Cs. If they don't then they aren't enforceable..0 -

Payment is not one of the required elements of a legally binding contract. You can pay without having a contract. You can have a contract without paying.
As I said, all depends on whether the contract was already formed or not at the time they received the invoice. You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means - Inigo Montoya, The Princess Bride0 -
With that situation, I can foresee many people driving without insurance when it isn't automatically renewed.

From an insurance renewal point-of-view I have always sided on the argument that we should only be responsible for insuring ourselves and our possessions. Then we could buy simpler packaged insurance policies to suit our needs - and leave others to buy similar packages to suit their needs (or do without if they wanted to take the risk). This would make the concept of automatic renewal a bit more desirable (although people should always be shopping around).IITYYHTBMAD0
